New Nordic shipping bank opens in a few days

Several high profile Norwegian shipping and business people are behind the new shipping bank Maritime & Merchant, which will be announced in a few days after years of preparation, CEO Halvor Sveen confirms to ShippingWatch.

A new Nordic shipping bank – Maritime & Merchant – of which German Henning Oldendorff and several high profile Norwegian shipping and business people are owners, will be formally presented in a few days.

The bank's CEO Halvor Sveen confirms to ShippingWatch on Monday that the capital base and the circle of shareholders in Maritime & Merchant is settled, and that he expects business to begin between Dec. 15 and 20, when a number of practical matters are resolved and the bank's systems are up and running.
