Wärtsilä tasks 400 employees with digitalization effort

The major Finnish supplier has established a new digital division. New people have been hired and 400 current employees from other divisions have been transferred to the division, which will focus in particular on cyber crime.

Wärtsilä has, like many other stakeholders in the maritime sphere, now opted to not focus on digitalization at the company, but to actually establish a special division for digitalization.

Specifically, this means that the Finnish company has hired new senior executives and managers for the digitalization division, and has moved 400 current employees to the division.
