Aker companies working on energy island in North Sea

Aker Solutions' newly formed offshore wind firm plans to establish 1.7 GW in Norway and has found a joint venture partner to bid alongside in the Scottish licensing round.

The three latest subsidiaries to be established by Aker Solutions underline the company's recent offshore wind ambitions. With the names Nordavindar, Sønnavindar and Vestavindar Offshore Wind AS, it doesn't take a stretch of the imagination to envision that the Norwegian company plans to make a bid in January, when Norway opens the two offshore wind areas Utsira Nord and Sørlige Nordsjøen 2.
