Yesterday, Halliburton's Norwegian branch became next in line to announce layoffs, as the company has decided to reduce its staff following the investment slowdown in the oil industry.

"In light of the project activity, the coming months ahead of January 2015 should bring changes to our organization, and we are unfortunately forced to let 23 employees go and give notice of an additional 23 layoffs," said the company in a mail to its employees on Wednesday, according to Norwegian newspaper Aftenposten.
