Statoil outlines three energy scenarios ahead of 2040

Many oil and gas fields need to be developed and explored towards 2040 in spite of the rapid growth in the green energy sector, notes Statoil in a forecast for the energy sector. The Norwegian behemoth outlines three possible scenarios in a new report available here.

The world will need more renewable energy in the years ahead of 2040, while there will also be a great need for investments in explorations and the development of new oil and gas production as the output from older fields declines.
