DP World, one of the biggest competitors of A.P. Moeller - Maersk's port business APM Terminals, saw a slightly higher container throughput in its ports during the 3rd quarter.
The amount of containers handled reached 14.2 million in the period, corresponding to a 2.4 percent increase compared to the 3rd quarter 2012. The increase is based on developments in ports already belonging to DP World's portfolio. Measured by reported amounts, container volumes declined by 0.4 percent, reflecting the company's divestment of activities, says the company according to Bloomberg News.
