Seaspan owner receives takeover proposal from group that includes ONE

The parent company of Seaspan, the world’s largest lessor of container vessels, has received a ”take private” bid from a group of existing shareholders and Japanese liner major ONE.

Atlas Corp., which owns Seaspan, the world’s largest lessor of container vessels, has received a ”take private” proposal from Poseidon Acquisition Corp., which includes Japanese container carrier Ocean Network Express, ONE.

The proposal is dated Aug. 4, according to a press release from Atlas Corp.
