Eagle Bulk Shipping, which has former Clipper Group CEO Gary Vogel at its helm, is establishing a new office in Hamburg, informs the carrier in a press release.

The German unit, Eagle Bulk Europe GmbH, will be led by Jan-Philipp Rauno, former partner at Mosvold Bulk Shipping.

Gary Vogel describes the opening of the Hamburg office as an important milestone for Eagle Bulk, which will bring it closer to its European network.

Eagle Bulk Shipping is headquartered in Stamford, Connecticut.

Earlier in March, Eagle Bulk secured a deal with its creditors for new liquidity to the tune of USD 105 million and at the same time made changes to the company's structure. The carrier has previously faced huge economic challenges and back in 2014 was compelled to seek out bankruptcy protection.
