Container carriers cancel 48 sailings up to China's Golden Week

Leading up to China’s Golden Week, which began on Oct. 1, box carriers have announced 48 blank sailings, reports Sea-Intelligence. Total capacity has grown slightly, however.

Container market freight rates have long been in freefall, thus making forwarders and various other market players turn their attention to the question of how many sailings liner companies plan to annul as a part of efforts to buoy rates.
