Maersk Line and 2M partner MSC will be at the forefront of the East-West traffic when the two container carriers - the world's biggest and second-biggest - launch the large-scale alliance on the first day of the new year.
Information from the Danish carrier show that the number of ports that Maersk Line can "sell" to customers will increase from 69 today to 78 with 2M. The collaboration with MSC also means that the number of weekly services on the key East-West traffic will grow from 18 to 23 going forward.
