Maersk Line notes big slide in profits and revenue

Demand grew by between zero and one percent, while growth in the global container fleet came to almost ten percent.

Maersk Line's struggle with the rates on Asia-Europe in particular resulted in a revenue that declined to USD 6.01 billion in the third quarter this year, from USD 7.07 billion in the same period last year, corresponding to a 14.9 percent setback, according to the company's third quarter interim report, published Friday.
