Container carrier Hapag-Lloyd reports solid developments in its preliminary results for the full year 2015, published on Tuesday. In 2015, Hapag-Lloyd achieved an operating profit (EBIT) of EUR 366.4 million, up from an operating deficit of EUR 382.8 million in 2014

The container carrier's revenue increased to EUR 8.8 billion in 2015 against EUR 6.8 billion the year before, a development attributed in particular to the merger with Chilean carrier CSAV, which was finalized in December 2014, notes Hapag-Lloyd. The carrier's cargo volumes increased in the past year to around 7.4 million teu from 5.9 million teu in 2014.
