Desperate container carriers knock down prices from Far East

Shippers can currently transport a 20-foot container from the Far East to North Europe for about USD 100. This is how low some shipowners are willing to go in order to fill up vessels, Alphaliner writes.

Container shipowners seem to be increasingly desperate to fill up vessels on the routes between the Far East and North Europe. According to analyst agency Alphaliner, prices are currently being offered as low as USD 100 to freight a 20-foot container (teu) between the two continents.
