DP World continues to report growth in cargo handled despite the weak markets. In the first quarter of this year, the global terminal operator reported a 3.7 percent rise in container volumes. Now, the half-year interim report for 2016 confirms that this is a continuing trend for the UAE-based operator although at a lower level.

According to a press release accompanying the report, DP World handled 31.4 million teu across its global portfolio of container terminals in the first half of this year, or a boost of 2.5 percent in gross volume. On a like-for-like basis, gross container volumes grew by 1.2 percent on the year.
