Container rates decline 7.6 percent

The price of transporting containers declined in the past week after rising for three consecutive weeks in the wake of Hanjin Shipping's collapse.

The benchmark Shanghai Containerized Freight Index, SCFI, which covers spot rates on container transports from Shanghai to a series of destinations across the globe, began to decline again this week after the index had seen rates increase for three consecutive weeks.
