Media: New major VLCC trade underway

For the third time since Maersk Tankers sold its fleet of supertankers to Euronav, a new trade concerning seven crude oil tankers is on the way, says Tradewinds.

The third major VLCC - supertanker - trade since Maersk withdrew completely from the segment and sold its fleet to Belgian Euronav earlier this year, seems to be on the way.

According to Tradewinds, DHT is allegedly looking to acquire a total of seven VLCC's from Samco Shipholding at a combined price of USD 570 million. DHT was reportedly also in the picture when Scorpio Tankers divested several newbuilding contracts to General Maritime.
