
With a little effort Nordic Tankers should be able to look across the harbor in Copenhagen and spy another major player in the chemical segment, Eitzen Chemical.
Both carriers are based in Copenhagen and this is one of the reasons that the city is among the leading tanker hubs in the world. But the congestion at the waterfront could also be a sign of the overcapacity the chemical market is generally plagued by, something that Nordic Tankers' owner, private equity fund Triton, in particular, has learned through its acquisition of Nordic's chemical fleet and the subsequent merger with Herning Shipping, a carrier the fund already owned.
