Kristian Mørch: Odfjell must strengthen its position

Clipper Group CEO Kristian Mørch had, in his own words, made himself redundant at Clipper. His new job as head of Norwegian Odfjell will focus on strengthening the carrier's position, and not least creating a profit. ShippingWatch has interviewed Kristian Mørch.

As Chief Executive of Clipper's project segment, multi-purpose, Kristian Mørch has in recent years actually been in charge of pulling the job content out of the position in which he has served since arriving at Clipper around four years ago.

As Thorco gradually took over the fleet, and employees moved to the family-owned carrier - and Kristian Mørch eventually left the Thorco board of directors - the question of what 48 year old Mørch would do going forward had become increasingly acute. Even though he still served as CEO of Clipper, serving alongside American Gary Vogel in the carrier's renowned dual-management team, Vogel is indisputably in charge of the company's dry bulk segment, which now represents the carrier's key business.
