Large-scale Bourbon takeover gives Evergas new owners

France's Bourbon has acquired several companies from Jaccar Holdings, including tanker carrier Evergas. Bourbon's plan is to divest vessels, with the idea being that Evergas will bareboat charter vessels from a business unit that raises financing, the carrier's CEO Steffen Jacobsen tells ShippingWatch.

Tanker carrier Evergas will get a new owner in French-based Bourbon, whose business has so far been mainly focused on offshore. In a million-dollar takeover, Bourbon will acquire, among other entities, the company Greenship Gas, which until now owned Evergas through French group Jaccar Holdings, informs Bourbon in a statement on Tuesday, and Evergas CEO Steffen Jacobsen has just stepped off the plane in Paris when ShippingWatch gets him on the phone.
