One container alliance in particular is under pressure

In their 2M alliance, Maersk Line and MSC will have significantly more ultra-large vessels than their competitors, while one of the three alliances will shrink.

With only a few ultra-large container vessels expected to achieve the carrier's main contribution to economies of scale on the Asia to Europe routes, one of the three new and dominant alliances in global container appears to be losing ground.
