EU renews call on IMO to ban heavy fuel in the Arctic

The EU Parliament repeats its call to the IMO to forbid ships from sailing on heavy fuel oil in the Arctic. The reiteration is a message meant to say that the EU will take action if the IMO does not deliver, NGO tells ShippingWatch.

Ships should no longer sail on Heavy Fuel Oil (HFO) in vulnerable environments such as the Arctic, and the UN's International Maritime Organization (IMO) should pass this ban as soon as possible.
