Several of Cosco's systems still down after cyber attack

All vessels are operating normally and primary business systems are performing stably, writes Cosco in a lengthy announcement to customers regarding its recent cyber attack. However, several systems in the impacted region remain down.

E-mail systems and telephone lines at Cosco Shipping remain impacted by the cyber attack which struck the container carrier in its US departments this week, spreading further to other countries in South and North America. However, the critical business systems are performing stably.

This is the message from Cosco in an in-depth FAQ to customers after Tuesday's cyber attack which distrupted operations in the US. The attack then spread further in the region to Cosco's activities in Canada, Panama, Argentina, Brazil, Peru, Chile and Uruguay, which according to Danish media Børsen make up eight out of Cosco's 27 departments in North and South America.
