Indicator shows worsened crew change crisis

The dire crew change crisis that has been the harsh reality for seafarers globally since the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic shows no signs of improvement, shows this month's indicator from the Neptune Declaration.

The crew change crisis continues for seafarers globally and seems to be getting worse, shows the Neptune Declaration Crew Change Indicator.

According to the third indicator published on Thursday, the number of seafarers on board ships beyond the expiry of their contract has risen from 7.2 percent to 8.8 percent in the last month.
