Analysis: A lot of pressure on the banks' shipping loans

There's a lot of pressure on the banks' shipping portfolios, and the shipping crisis will probably last longer, at least till the end of 2014, says rating bureau Fitch.

The major shipping banks will remain under pressure due to their loans to the industry, says Fitch Ratings.

"The shipping crisis will probably last longer than we originally thought, putting increased pressure on the quality of shares at banks with a large exposure to the sector," writes Fitch in the analysis.
