Gigantic growth in the number of LNG ships

The LNG bunker market along with the number of LNG ships will experience a massive growth ahead of 2025, says Ocean Shipping Consultants in a new report.

The LNG market will experience significant changes in the years to come, and the number of LNG ships will have multiplied many fold by 2025, and the LNG bunker market will have grown significantly, according to a new report by analysts Oncea Shipping Consultants, which won't be published till September 17th.

Ocean Shipping Consultants estimates that there are currently 40 LNG ships deployed around the world, corresponding to less than 0.1 percent of the total commercial fleet, which estimates put at around 54,000 vessels. In addition to the 40 operational LNG ships, another 30 are in the pipeline to be delivered from the yards. But by 2025 the total number of ships sailing on LNG will be close to 1,250.
