Scorpio in new giant VLCC order
Just when it seemed that Scorpio had tired of the newbuilding market for 2013, the New York/Monaco-based shipping company has ordered seven VLCC's and eight bulk vessels, for a total price of around USD 850 million.

Scorpio Tankers is placing around USD 650 in the somewhat struggling market for supertankers. In a statement the carrier announces that it has made a deal with Daewoo Shipbuilding and Marine Engineering Co., Ltd. and Hyundai Samho Heavy Industries for the construction of seven VLCC's for a total price of around USD 652.5 million.
