This is the Polar Code road map

The implementation strategy for the Polar Code was determined at last week's meeting of the IMO's environmental committee in London. The ambition is for the Code to come into force in 2016.

The road map for the sought after Polar Code, aimed at determining the rules for shipping activities in the delicate Arctic environment, was settled at the meeting of the IMO's Marine Environment Protection Committee (MEPC) in London last week.
