Plan for the Nicaragua Canal approved

A committee of government officials, businessmen and academics in Nicaragua on Monday approved the route for the Nicaragua Canal. Work is expected to begin in December.

The final route for the USD 40 billion Nicaragua Canal has been approved. As ShippingWatch reported on Monday, the plan was presented yesterday by president Daniel Ortega and the Chinese CEO of the project development. The plan was subsequently approved by a committee consisting of government officials, businessmen and academics, according to Reuters.
