Norway supports EU sanctions against Russia

Norway will follow suit on the EU's most recent restrictive efforts aimed at Russia, says Minister of Foreign Affairs Børge Brende.

The continuing crisis in the Ukraine now makes Norway react, and the country will thus back the EU's increased sanctions against Russia.

"In spite of massive international pressure, Russia has showed no signs of changing its actions in Ukraine, actions that violate international law. Norway will therefore introduce increased measures similar to those implemented by the EU on September 12," says the country's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Børge Brende, in a statement.
