Shipping investor to increase US exports as Trump's commerce secretary

US investor Wilbur Ross emerged with criticism of China and support for US shipping regulations when presenting his vision for his new role as the US secretary of commerce. He also looks set to drop the reins on his companies so that he can accede to public office.

Wilbur Ross, American capital fund manager and major investor in industries including shipping, is one formal step closer to becoming the new US secretary of commerce when Donald Trump officially takes over the White House from Barack Obama Friday, writes Wall Street Journal.
