OECD calls for tightened competition rules in container shipping

Recent years’ sky-high rates and delays reveal a need for tighter competition regulation of container shipping, as recommended in a new report by the International Transport Forum under the OECD.

The towering earnings of container shipping companies seen in recent years are a clear indication that it’s high time to tighten competition regulation of the sector and clarify the requirements posed by authorities, according to a new report.

The report on container shipping is titled ”Performance of Maritime Logisitics” and comes from inter-state organization the International Transport Forum (ITF) with 64 member nations under the OECD.
