Orskov Yards still going strong

Profits improved slightly in Orskov Yard's recently published annual report, and the big Frederikshavn shipyard thus maintains its solid development in recent years.

Ahead of the fiscal year 2012/13 Jeppe Ørskov, CEO of the major repair yard in Frederikshavn, Denmark, predicted that it would be difficult to sustain the highly positive financial level achieved in 2011/12.

"There are significantly more players than before. So I'm sure that the competition is going to be even tougher. There are numerous facilities that used to focus on newbuildings which have now - due to the poor market - started to do repairs as well," Jeppe Ørskov told ShippingWatch almost exactly one year ago.
