There are no good excuses, says Jens Maul Jørgensen, who will take over as Chairman of the international bunker association IBIA this April. He is head of bunker at the world's largest dry bulk carrier, Oldendorff, where he oversees bunker purchases and risk management.
On Monday he delivered a speech for 1,129 attendees from the international shipping industry at IBIA's annual dinner in London. There is at this event a tradition for more or less neutral speeches, but Jens Maul Jørgensen decided to break this tradition as he used sharp words to call on bunker suppliers to comply with the ISO standards that currently apply. This was a good occasion to provoke a little, as he tells ShippingWatch today.
