Chinese container giant grew profit 30 pct

Chinese container manufacturer CIMC - key competitor to Maersk Container Industry - improved its bottom line 30 percent in the first half of 2015. The company projects lower growth in the second half of the year.

With a result of 1.65 million yuan, around USD 260 million, the world's largest container manufacturer - China's CIMC - managed to grow its profit by 28.48 percent in the first half of 2015, up from 1.29 billion yuan in the same period last year.

Revenue noted a more modest increase, at 1.84 percent, from 32.05 billion yuan in the first half of 2014 to 32.63 billion yuan in the first six months of 2015, according to CIMC's second quarter interim report.
