Søren Skou is the Maersk Group's new super CEO

Søren Skou is the very model of a Maersk man with his roots squarely planted in the DNA of Denmark's by far largest shipping and oil group. He has been able to deliver, and he now stands to become the first dual-CEO in the history of the conglomerate.

Rumors have abounded for a while that a reshuffle was underway at Maersk, and that the group's Chief Executive, Nils Smedegaard Andersen, would like be replaced within the near future. Meanwhile, Søren Skou looked increasingly like a safe bet to succeed Smedegaard after four years as CEO of the Maersk Group's biggest and most important business unit, container carrier Maersk Line.
