Søren Skou has great expectations for new Svitzer CEO

The newly appointed Group CEO of Maersk, Søren Skou, saw major talent in the new CEO of Svitzer, Henriette Thygesen, when he met her for the first time almost 15 years ago. And he stills sees it. "She has the potential for more," he tells ShippingWatch about the new Chief Executive.

Newly appointed Maersk Group CEO Søren Skou was fairly certain that a promising talent was in front of him when he met Henriette Thygesen for the first time. This was at the very beginning of the millennium when he served as head of Maersk Tankers, and Henriette Thygesen had been part of the Maersk Group for a number of years. Not much time passed before senior management had replaced the slightly more technical research work which she headed for the tanker carrier with a position as Manager of Damco in Shanghai. There she was responsible for both operations as well as a large number of employees.
