Nordic shipowners: EU subsidies for green transitioning must not favorize foot-dragging carriers

The fight for EU’s billions for sustainable shipping has started. The funds ought to go to carriers that are actively contributing to the green transition, Nordic shipowner associations urge.

When the EU starts letting billions of euros flow in support of the shipping industry, stemming from revenue from the European Emissions Trading System (ETS), the money ought to be awarded first and foremost to carriers that have not neglected to bring down their CO2 emissions.
